- [Teacher] Now that we have VirtualBox all set up,…it's now time to install CentOS.…You're gonna wanna open a web browser,…and browse to CentOS.org.…Click on Get CentOS Now,…and they'll be a link for DVD ISO.…This is a 4.3 gig ISO.…It'll work on any DVD drive,…and in our case, we're going to use it…just as an ISO image.…The Everything ISO has twice as much material.…Nine gigs or somewhere like that.…So, we'll use DVD ISO.…
You'll wanna click on this Repository Close to You.…If you don't know what that would be,…you can choose the top one or any other,…and it'll download just fine.…Now that we've downloaded our CentOS 7 DVD,…we'll wanna clone our CentOS 7 virtual machine.…The reason you'll wanna do this…is that you don't have to set up…your optimizations a second time.…We can take our original CentOS 7 virtual machine,…and we can clone it each time we need a new VM.…If you want a DNS server, you clone it for a DNS server.…If you want a web server,…you can clone it again for a web server.…

I'm trying to do an install of Centos 6.2 x86_64 over the network, using VMware and Virtualbox virtual machines. The CentOS-6.2-x86_64-bin-DVD1.iso has been unpacked on the web server so that /var/www/html/centos/62/images contains the install.img file.
The virtual machines then boot with a local copy of the CentOS-6.2-x86_64-netinstall.iso disk image, and I specify a kickstart file at the first boot screen.
The VM initialises, NetworkManager configures the eth0 interface, the updates.img and product.img files are read correctly, and then I get the error message 'Unable to retrieve http://192.168.0.70/centos/62/images/install.img'.:

I have triple-checked the paths involved: the fact that updates.img and product.img are read correctly makes me sure that it's not a networking issue, and equally sure that my paths are right. Here's the ftp view of my Centos source files to compare with:

Out of interest, I tried the exact same virtual machine with the Scientific Linux 6.1 boot.iso (connecting to the SL6.1 single-disk install DVD contents) in much the same sort of configuration and it worked perfectly.
Is there a known issue with the Centos 6.2 net install disk? I found http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=5402 where someone describes the same problem, but am unclear whether it's a genuine issue or not: that specific report seems to have a weird typo in the path. That's not true here, I think.
