Find your vehicle's engine serial number. Depending on your vehicle's make, the serial number for your engine will be displayed on the left, right, back or front region of your engine block.
Step 2
Go to the Texoma T's website (see Resources). This website runs a free query on your engine's serial number. Click on the link that says 'By Serial Number.'
Step 3
Type the engine serial number in the text field next to 'Enter a Serial Number and Press Enter.'
Click the 'Run Query' tab to decode the serial number.

- You can also get information pertaining to your engine with your VIN number, which is displayed on your vehicle's title or registration. To accomplish this with your VIN, go to websites like GovDMVRecords, CARFAX or AutoCheck (see Resources) and perform a VIN check.
